Eric is the founder, CEO, and co-CIO of the Rockhampton group and has been involved in the Japanese equity markets since 1994. He is responsible
for all investment decisions that are made on behalf of the funds, and for ensuring the integrity of the investment process is being upheld across the company. Before founding Rockhampton, he was a founding member of Japan Advisory Limited, an advisor to a Japanese long-short fund. Prior to that, Eric was a fund manager investing in Japanese small-cap equities at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. His career in Japanese equities began in 1994 as a sell-side analyst with SG Warburg, where he covered small-cap stocks, following three years covering consumer stocks in Australia and in Japan.

In his spare time, Eric enjoys following cricket (and reliving his playing days in his mind), hiking, kayaking, running, reading, attending live houses and concerts, listening to music and podcasts, and travelling to non-English speaking countries. Eric firmly upholds the belief that every individual is entitled to rights and freedoms, irrespective of where they are in the world.

Tetsu is the Co-CIO and chief risk manager of the Rockhampton group. He is responsible for all matters pertaining to investment risk, including
portfolio construction, position sizing, and management of portfolio exposures. Prior to joining Rockhampton, he spent ten years at the Tokyo office of Goldman Sachs in various Japanese equity roles including research sales, execution trading, and proprietary trading.

Outside of the office, Tetsu enjoys spending time with his family and indulging in his passion and lifelong hobby of raising horses.

Ken is the COO of the Rockhampton group and oversees the non-investment side of the business along with business development.
He originally joined as a trader and over time his duties broadened to include speaking with investors, recruiting, and business development. Prior to joining Rockhampton, Ken was an equity sales-trader dealing in Japanese equities with Morgan Stanley in Tokyo.

In his spare time, Ken enjoys playing futsal and tennis, taking long walks around Tokyo with his wife, and sneaking in an occasional gaming session with friends.

Chiharu is an investment analyst at Rockhampton and covers the electronics, chemicals, and materials sectors in Japan. Chiharu works
with the portfolio management and research teams to ensure that the research being conducted meets Rockhampton’s high standards for quality, rigor, pragmatism, and compliance. Before joining Rockhampton, Chiharu held macro and equity analyst roles at various sell-side and buy-side firms across Asia, including BZW in Tokyo, Bank of Asia Asset Management in Bangkok, and AIB Govett (Asia) in Singapore, covering both Japan and Asia ex-Japan during this time.

In her spare time, Chiharu enjoys travelling, walking, and relaxing in the countryside. Her main interests include tech gadgets, cars, motorbikes, and music.

Mark Teranishi is the CTO of the Rockhampton group and was the first member of Rockhampton’s Information Technology team, in which he
was responsible for building out the company’s technological infrastructure. In his current role, he oversees all matters related to information technology, from hardware and infrastructure, to software and system development. Mark’s team also leads the artificial intelligence initiative at Rockhampton, which aims to harness the power of AI to enhance decision-making capabilities across the investment and non-investment teams. Before joining Rockhampton, Mark worked for the London office of Deutsche Bank within the Equity Research Information Technology team. Prior to that, he was with Deutsche Bank’s Tokyo office as a database administrator, and with HSBC Tokyo before that in a similar capacity. Mark started his career in the financial services industry at Warburg, working closely with Eric Forday in building out the information technology side of the Japanese small-cap product.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys learning about the latest computer technology, astronomy, and cycling.
